Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was named the best airport of its size in North America by the Airports Council International two years in a row! The airport is evolving in many areas to improve the traveler's experience including: parking, check-in, dining, shopping, passenger amenities and baggage claim. In the past year, 50 stores have already been updated and an array of new restaurants have opened emphasizing local favorites and beloved national chains. More changes are yet to come to improve amenities, parking, baggage claim, and so much more! 

Join us and wrap up the APICS year with this informative presentation about our local airport leading in the nation! Kate Webb's presentation will cover the following:

  • Why MSP Airport decided to take on this major overhaul
  • What hurdles the vendor concessions team had to overcome
  • What changes are being made with customer service 



About the Speaker

In 2014, Kate Webb relocated to Minnesota from Georgia in order to create, administer, and award the Request for Proposals (RFP) process that was to redevelop Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s (MSP) concession program. She negotiated lease agreements with international prime concessionaires and local concept owners at the conclusion of the RFP for the Phase 1 of the “Reimagine MSP” project, which converted 50 concession units in an eighteen-month construction period. In 2017, she successfully administered, awarded, and negotiated the Phase 2 RFP and lease processes. Construction of the next 30 restaurants began in February 2018. In November 2017, Airport Business named Kate a Top 40 Under 40 for her work on the MSP concession program redevelopment.
